We are observing the results of unseccessful transformation

The fifteenth debate of the Beseda v Besedě cycle. Topic: Czech political (non)culture? Guests: Josef Mlejnek and Terezie kaslová. Place and time: Malostranská beseda, Prague, May 22, 2017. Host: Veronika Sedláčková. Accompanied by music by Adams Emily duo (Emilie Bauerová and Martin Adamovský).

The first question was whether we are in crisis. Journalist Terezia Kaslová does not think so; however, she does not find current situation ideals. On the other hand, political scientist Josef Mlejnek thinks that we are in a crisis but a long-term one. Current constitutional crisis doesn´t add, according to him, anything new. He argues that our situation is a result of failed transformation of the state and society.

The guests discussed the option each citizen has to influence the situation. Mr. Kaslová thinks we should discussed with people, who might be radical or aggressive online to show that there are people with peaceful opinions as well. Josef Mlejnek consider useful supporting independent media by money the way we can contribute.
